Dr. W. Christian Oakley has been practicing surgery in Boise for more than 20 years. The most experienced bariatric surgeon in Idaho, Dr. Oakley performed the first minimally invasive weight loss operation in the state (laparoscopic gastric bypass) in 2001, and has since performed more than 1,000 such procedures.

Dr. Oakley is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is a member of the active staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Boise, where he is a past president of the medical staff. Clinic Information

Dr. Korn

Robert Korn, MD, PhD
Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Bob Korn has performed more than 500 bariatric procedures since 2003. He specializes in laparaoscopic and open gastric bypass as well as laparaoscopic gastric banding.

Dr. Korn earned his medical degree and doctorate in cardiac physiology from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and his fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Maryland. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general surgery and critical care, and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Korn also leads St. Luke's residency program in general surgery. Clinic Information

Dr. Valentine Jim Valentine, MD
Bariatric Surgeon
Jim Valentine, MD is an experienced bariatric surgeon and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Valentine performs laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic gastric banding, and sleeve gastrectomy. Clinic Information

 

Annie Campbell, PA

Annie Campbell, PA

Annie Campbell, PA earned her bachelor's degree in biology and master's degree in physician assistant studies from Idaho State University in Pocatello. She developed a passion for bariatric surgery during her physician assistant training, and has devoted her career to the fields of bariatric and general surgery. Annie joined the St. Luke's Bariatric Program in 2009, and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

 

The St. Luke's Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery team is specially trained to help ensure the best possible outcome for patients through clinical expertise, education, and support.
